Celine Ursula Nygaard

Celine is from Nordfjordeid, Norway. She has an older brother, Thomas, who is working on his Master's in Media and Communications. Her mother is a Trained Medical Assistant, but last year she returned to school for a career change. Her dad, Espen, is the only non-student in the family right now. He is a Fiscal therapist and devotes most of his spare time to Rotary. This year he is the Assisting Governor for District 2250. He is also the District Exchange Youth Officer.

Last spring she finished her Norwegian degree, Candidati Mageseri. Her studies included art history, religious studies, Portuguese, and philosophy. This year she is studying Latin, anthropology and more religious studies and will return to Norway ready to start her Master's thesis in religion.

Celine likes all kinds of arts and crafts, from engraving on glass to knitting. She is a fan of art exhibitions and shows of all kinds. Her favorite sports are Tai Chi Chuan and different kinds of dance. "I also really enjoy reading and traveling, exploring both the mind and the world."

"I applied to GRSP because I truly believe in the Rotary spirit of bringing nations together. This is what I enjoy doing and hopefully where my career will end up. I also hope that I can share a part of Norway with you and that you will learn more about my country, my culture, and me. I know that I will learn a lot from all of you and my future experiences here this year."
