About Us
Ultimately attracting future Rotarians
The Roswell Rotary Club has recognized a need to encourage and facilitate each Rotary club within Rotary District 6900 to become a sponsor of Rotaract, Interact and Youthact organizations in each of their respective communities. This concept is being called the Rotary Youth "feeder" program, and is designed to help direct the efforts of the local Rotary Club to establish each group as a normal progression from the middle school level to the young professional level, and ultimately attracting future Rotarians.
Our Internet Vision
ROTARY SHARES
"If one strong common thread exists among our 1.2 million members, it is our willingness to share." The Roswell Rotary Club has registered the website domain names of YouthActClubs.org, InteractClubs.org, and RotaractClubs.org. ( In addition to these, other levels of Rotary Club activity on the Internet, not yet active, but already registered in name by Roswell Rotary, are Rotakids.org, GenXclubs.org, and Probusclubs.org. These six levels comprise what is known as "NEW GENERATIONS" Program, which fulfills, for us at Roswell Rotary, the sixth un-named spoke of the Rotary Wheel.) Each site is being developed as a home site for each Rotary club to register their sponsored youth club on each level, and to allow for that youth club to communicate their information to other youth clubs within District 6900. A special password access to the home website, which is controlled by the Roswell Rotary Club as the hosting club, is provided to the sponsoring Rotary club, and is then given to the school faculty representative, or Rotary representative for the local Rotaract, Interact, Youthact club. This controlled access will ensure the proper use of the website, and prevent unauthorized entry of information to each level of the site. Each locally sponsored youth club can list the names of their officers and contact information for their organization, along with projects, and special dates for meeting and events. This allows for youth clubs to interact, as one level's name implies, to share ideas and information to become a stronger and more active program. Members can visit other youth club sites to learn from each other. They can access youth club forms, read club news and announcements online.
The Roswell Rotary Website Vision creates the opportunity for a complete integration of all levels of Rotary participation to become one, through the use of "website links" thus allowing for the individual to develop and grow into the "Rotary Experience" from student to adult. And, the support and involvement of the local Rotary club is present all along the way, promoting a positive, pro-active influence within their community.
Another very important aspect of the concept beyond bringing all levels together is the cost savings offered by this "centralization" of location and the communication and promotion of the ideas of Rotary International. By providing a youth club with a pre-designed website for their use, which ties their club together with others in the district, and with the minimal cost of the site presence being paid by the sponsoring Rotary club, the burden of website development and maintenance of a youth club is a non-issue. This encourages Rotary to have a much closer leadership role in assisting these levels to truly develop into the meaningful purpose for which each youth club level was created. For many local Rotary Clubs that have not entered the "website" arena, this vision allows them the introduction of technology, to engage their respective clubs, and for each club to experience the exchange of a wealth of Rotary information at their fingertips. These websites may impact the future growth of many Rotary clubs within District 6900 by "bringing us all together" while publicizing the purpose and goals of Rotary International. |
